From 1 November 2024, we will play in our new hall in the new school on the Landtong near shopping centre Groenhof.
Before this, we played in a separate gymnastics hall. The new and old venue are very close to each other.

Please do not park in the fenced play and parking area even if there are already parked cars there. After school activities, this area will be closed again.

The map shows the walking routes to the hall’s entrance from the Landtong. Below is an explanation of the walkway to the venue.

Sneltram 25 from Amsterdam stops near the playing venue.
Get off at the junction Beneluxbaan / Sportlaan.
A number of buses from Uithoorn and Aalsmeer also stop nearby.

This is how to find our hall:
the coloured line indicates walking routes from
Landtong street to the new hall.
See explanation!

Walkway to new venue

Update 6 June 2025:

The map shows the two routes from the Groenhof bridge.

Access to our playing venue/canteen is possible through 2 entrances (A or B).

  • The entrance closest to the ‘Landtong’ is this one (see photo A). This can be clearly recognized by the text ‘Gymzaal’ above the door and on or above the door it is recognizable that this is the entrance to TTV Amstelveen.
Visitors must ring the bell named ‘Gymzaal’. If that does not yield any results, the second option is to ring the bell named ‘Kantine TTV’.
Senior members have been given a QR code and instructions on how to use it to enter.
From the entrance a staircase leads up to the changing rooms. Our canteen is located after the changing rooms at the end of the corridor and the main entrance to the play hall.

  • For guests who have difficulty walking, you can ring the bell on the side of the building at the main entrance of IKC de Horizon. See photo B.
    Ring the bell named ‘Gymzaal’.
From the entrance, take the lift to the first floor on your left. Once you are on the first floor, turn left into the corridor and you will arrive at the canteen. Just after the canteen, you will see the door to the hall on your left. Continue down the corridor and you will first see the ladies’ changing room on your left, followed by the men’s changing room.
Under no circumstances can/should you enter the swinging doors to the school.
This will set off the burglar alarm for that part of the building.

Information for parents about trial lessons.

Nice that you are interested in the trial lessons. Here are some details:

    • Number of youth members: Our club has about 50 youth members, which makes for a lively and friendly atmosphere. Lessons are taught in both Dutch and English.
    • Training in 3 groups: We offer training in three different groups to meet the diverse needs of our members.
Group 1 is for beginners, group 2 for advanced players and group 3 for competitive players. The groups 2 and 3 play together.
    • Trial lessons: Trial lessons are always held in Group 1. These lessons are held on Mondays and/or Thursdays from 16:45 to 18:15.
Youth members may attend 2 free trial lessons before deciding to actually become a member.
    • Requirements: Sportswear and non-marking indoor sports shoes are required to participate in the training.
Don’t worry if you don’t have table tennis equipment yet; we are happy to lend the necessary equipment during the first lessons.
Youth members pay a registration fee of €45 when they first sign up. In exchange, they receive a good beginner’s bat.
Later, we can also give advice on buying equipment so in any case, do not buy equipment yet without advice from the trainers.
    • Evaluation of training: After the first three lessons, our trainers will assess whether the children have the right basic level to continue.
    • Holidays: Please note that we are closed during school holidays.
    • Registration: If your son/daughter would like to attend the first trial lesson, please let us know via jeugd@ttvamstelveen.nl and indicate the day you would like to attend the first trial lesson.
Please also include your son/daughter’s name and age.
    • Parental involvement: For the first lesson, we particularly appreciate it if a parent is present about 15 minutes before the training starts.
This gives us the opportunity to introduce ourselves and answer any questions.

We sincerely hope that you and your child will soon feel at home at Table Tennis Association Amstelveen. If you have any questions before the trial lesson, please do not hesitate to contact us at jeugd@ttvamstelveen.nl.

Information for potential non-youth players at our club

We always welcome new table tennis players at our club. However it is not possible to play with us without being a member of our club.

(The frequently asked question  “can I hire a table to play with friends” has a simple answer: you can’t do that.)

Before you decide to join our club you are entitled to play 2 times for free after which you have to decide to become a member of our club or not.

You can play table tennis at our club as a senior member (18+) mainly on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8:00 pm to 10:00 pm and on Mondays from 8:00 pm to 10:00 pm on days when no competition is played (please check the link on the opening hours page of our website for available Mondays).

Tables cannot be booked in advance. You can just come in and play. If there are more people in the venue than there are tables you have to wait for a while or make way after an hour of playing if people are waiting.

You can bring your own bat but novice players can borrow a bat from the club in the beginning. Balls are always provided by the club. In our venue indoor sportshoes are obligatory when playing.
Again, in order to play, anyone playing (including friends) must become a member of our club.

When you decide to give it a try, let us know on what date and time you (and friends who also want to become a member) want to come and play for a trial session and we will make sure that there is someone to welcome you and who can answer any additional questions.

We think that all important information about the club (opening hours, membership fees, becoming a volonteer, cancelling your membership) is available on the general information page of the website.

We hope to see you soon, but if you have any further questions please contact us via the contact form.
