Competitie rules

To make playing competition matches enjoyable, we apply a number of ‘fair play’ rules.
These rules apply to everyone and apply to all competitions (regional, national, youth).
We list them below in no particular order:

  • The hall is open half an hour before match time for both youth and senior leagues (for national playing teams one hour before match time).
  • When playing at home, make sure you are at the club on time to meet your opponents, have time for a warming up and start the match on time.
  • Help setting up and clearing away the tables, including fencing, counting boards and chairs. This also includes cleaning up any mess in the gym and dressing rooms.
  • Playing competition is always done in our club outfit! Both playing at home and away, everyone is a ‘business card’ of the club.
  • Note: In case of an inspection by the NTTB, not playing in the club outfit can be fined. This fine must be paid individually. You must also be able to show your membership card at the time of an inspection.
  • While playing at home, you as a team are responsible for recording the match results. With effect from the Autumn Competition 2022, the paper forms are replaced by the use of the DWF (digital competition form). See the explanation in this pdf  (Dutch only).
  • Change of match dates must be notified to the COMPETITION SECRETARY. The permitted alteration options can be found on the WEBSITE OF THE HOLLAND NOORD SECTION OF THE NTTB .
  • Fines for teams due to errors on the match form, failure to report results or late reporting, not turning up for a match etc. are to be paid by the teams themselves.
  • Questions of any kind relating to the competition can always be addressed to our COMPETITION SECRETARY.

Senior competition

The Dutch Table Tennis Association (NTTB) organises two competitions per year.
In spring from February into April and in autumn from September into November.
Senior teams play on weekday evenings. Home matches are on Monday or Friday nights and start at 20:00 .
The exception is the first team. This team plays its home matches on Saturdays at 15:00.
Away matches may be on other evenings and times (sometimes 19:30).

Your team consists of 3 to 7 persons. You as a team make a schedule to decide who plays when and for the transport to away games.
To make sure that playing is as pleasant as possible for everyone, we would like to ask your attention for the COMPETITION RULES

OUR SENIOR LEAGUE TEAMS in the Spring 2024 competition

Currently, we play with 9 teams in the regular senior league and with two teams in the DUO league.
Apart from the first senior team playing in the national league, a total of 9 singles matches are played in the regular league per evening by three players from our club against three players from the opponent.
A double match is also played in which one other team member is allowed to participate. Each match (set) is a best-of-five to the 11 points.

The duo competition is a separate competition in which the matches are shorter (only 5 sets, 2x two singles matches and 1x doubles).
This competition can be of interest, for example, to members who do not want to participate in the regular competition because the matches finish late or members who want to play a match more than once a week.

Our competition secretary Alex Brandt coordinates the team line-ups and takes care of communication to the NTTB and to members.
He is also the point of contact within our club for questions about the league, rescheduling matches (preferably not!) and substituting in another team.

Additional information on the regional competitions can be found in supplementary provisions and substitution restrictions regional senior competitions (text in Dutch only).

Junior competition

The Dutch Table Tennis Association (NTTB) also organises two youth competitions per year.
In the spring from January into April and in the autumn from September into November.
Youth teams play both away and home matches on Saturday mornings.
Home matches in the league start at 10am and home matches in the starters competition at 11am.
Start times for away matches may differ from this.

Your team consists of 3 to 5 persons. You as a team make a schedule to decide who plays when and for the transport to away games.
The youth coordinator can help you with this.
It is highly desirable that, at least for away games, at least one of the parents is present at the game as a companion.
To make sure that playing is as pleasant as possible for everyone, we would like to ask your attention for the COMPETITION RULES.

OUR Junior LEAGUE TEAMS in the spring 2024 competition

We are currently playing with four teams in the regular league and one team in the starter league.
As with the seniors, a total of 9 singles matches are played in the regular league by three players from our club against three players from the opponent.
Also a doubles match is played in which one other team member is allowed to participate. Each match (set) is a best-of-five to the 11 points.
The starter league is similar to the seniors’ DUO league:
two of our juniors play singles against two of the opponent and there is one double.

An overview is available with the schedule, opponents’ addresses and starting times for the current season.
More information can be found in the supplementary provisions document (in Dutch only).

Click on the team image to see the match results and league table of the teams in its poule.
Information about earlier competitions can be found just below the team pictures.

The state of affairs in the current competition for all teams can also be viewed on the competition results page.
