The season has come to an end — and what a season it was!
We enjoyed thrilling matches, fantastic results, and above all, an incredible amount of fun. Two senior teams were crowned champions, two teams unfortunately faced relegation, and among the youth teams, two also managed to lift the championship trophy.
The Champions:
Senior Team 1
On the very last match day, Team 1 secured the championship in the 3rd Division! Despite missing Ricardo, who was sidelined all season due to injury, Arjan, Ryan, Kaustav, Ali, and Harish (with substitutes Brian and Keisuke) proved to be a powerhouse.
They left the highly rated Hilversum team far behind with little difficulty.
Next season, “the First” will take on the challenge of competing in the 2nd Division for the first time in years. They will be reinforced by the return of Brian van den Heuvel — a major boost for the team!
Senior Team 6
Team 6 also clinched the title on the final day!
By sending Het Nootwheer home with a convincing 10–0 victory, they kept direct rival TSO at bay.
A special mention for Micha, who impressively won 20 out of his 22 matches! Atie, Paul, and Jo each won about half of their matches and many doubles as well.
Next year, the 3rd class will pose a serious challenge, but thanks to the training sessions led by John Scott and Ladislav Prorok, the team’s upward trend is clearly visible.
Youth Team 2
What more can we say about Elisa, Dimana, Pengyu, and Pengxuan? They are almost unbeatable! Once again this season, they became champions with a wide lead.
Dimana won 23 out of her 24 matches, Elisa (who keeps getting stronger) won 20 out of 24, and Pengyu and Pengxuan together secured 36 wins out of 45 matches.
Week after week, they swept their opponents off the table. Next season they will move up to the 2nd — or maybe even the 1st — class. And Team 2 will once again aim for the championship there!
Youth Team 4
Team 4 kept us all on the edge of our seats!
Yichen, Roy, Sebastiaan, and Jonathan started strong with three solid victories but suffered a tough loss against their main rival, TTV Amsterdam. This only fueled their fighting spirit, and from that point on, they remained undefeated.
On the final match day, they managed to edge out Amsterdam by the narrowest of margins.
Next season they will promote to the 4th class, and if they continue their development, they will certainly have a strong shot at another championship!
