Unfortunately, the sad news reached us that our former member and member of merit Piet Dijkman passed away on 6 November at the age of 89.
Piet contributed a great deal to our association for many years, including as secretary and spent many an hour behind the bar and much more.
Piet was a quiet, sweet and friendly man and was always willing to lend a hand. The obituary card very aptly read ‘Some people make the world a nicer place’.
Pete was still present at the opening meeting of our anniversary year last year and at the reunion of former members early this year; it was good to see that he still felt at home with our club.
The board wishes the family every strength in coping with this great loss.
