The autumn competition has started anew! Our first senior team, which has the lowest team rating in their pool in the second division, knew it would be tough.
The opening match against The Victory 1 was lost 10-0, which, although expected, was still a bit disappointing.
Last Saturday, the tide seemed to turn. In the home match against DOV 1, the team was surprisingly ahead 4-2 after six sets. Unfortunately, DOV 1 managed to equalise the score to 5-5 in the final sets.
Arjan (two wins), Ryan (two wins) and Brian (one win) put up a good fight. The exciting sets flew by: no fewer than 20 of the 40 games were decided by just two points!
It’s a shame that there were so few spectators, because they missed out on some wonderful table tennis. I hope for the organisers of the joint meal afterwards that there were more participants then.
