Our Member Administrator Jan-Jaap Troost has been transported by the Italian police in recent days.
As a referee at the European Championships for veterans he was of course
a Very Important Person and so he got the corresponding transport.
And maybe he got some inspiration from the tournament as well.
His last match was the women’s singles final for over 85s.
Participants were the ladies Bird (UK) and Blasberg (Germany).
After 45 minutes the match ended 3-2 for the German.
Jan-Jaap now knows exactly what it takes to still play table tennis well at the age of 85.
Hopefully he will not keep that knowledge to himself, but share it with our 55+ group .
Because the number of 85+ players in this group is, I think, limited to only one.
