Clinic Jonah and Ivan Kahn

Sunday, May 7, as part of our 75th anniversary, we had a great clinic with father and son Kahn, both of whom perform their skills weekly in the Eredivisie (the highest Dutch level).
Watched by about 60 people (trainers, volunteers, parents and children) Ivan and Jonah really made it a event.

They started with a short demonstration after which the children could improve their own strokes under their supervision. After this Jonah showed his service skills which are widely recognised. The juniors were allowed to try to play his service on the table but as expected almost nobody succeeded.
A lot of hilarity ensued when Jonah showed what was possible with a ball and a paddle and how you can impress your opponent before a match without having hit one ball.
The 2-hour clinic was rounded off with a “who hits the hardest smash” competition. A real speedometer was used for this purpose. Besides Jonah, Andrii Pankov was the only one who, to thunderous applause, hit the ball onto the table at a speed of over 90 km per hour.
We thank Jonah (who started his table tennis career at TTV Amstelveen) and Ivan for the great morning and look forward to the next clinic.
