Report competition youth spring 2024

Our youth coordinator Guus Korper sent the following message:

Dear youth members and their parents,
the Spring Competition 2024 has come to an end, and you can find the results and final standings here. Although we didn’t crown any champions, our young players performed excellently and showed significant improvement.

Regular Competition
Our flagship youth team, Team 1, narrowly missed the championship in the 4th class, finishing just 1 point behind in 2nd place. However, they scored enough points for us to request a spot in the 3rd class. Atharv won 20 out of 23 matches, and all the other players contributed as well.
Team 2 competed in the regular competition for the first time and held their own in several matches. They should carry this first-year experience into the next season. With good training, we’re confident they will do well.
Team 3 fought hard for the championship but fell short at the end against the strong HTC team. Despite this, they had a fantastic first season in the regular competition. Dimana (with a 78% win rate) and Pengyu (73%) performed exceptionally, and the younger players Pengxuan and Elisa also showed that their intensive training paid off. If this team continues their progress, we are confident they can celebrate a championship next season.

Starters Competition
We had two starter teams this competition, with some players having a year of experience and some newcomers.
Starters Team 1 was in a tough group but showed clear progress throughout the competition. With hard work next season, they will do even better.
Starters Team 2 secured an impressive 2nd place, with Lennox and Jonathan leading the way and showing potential for the 5th class.

The new competition season starts on Saturday, September 14, and we expect all current players to participate again. All youth players will soon receive a survey to confirm their participation and to see if there are any new players joining.
Keep training regularly and work with the coaches to prepare for the next season.

Sportive regards on behalf of the coaches and the board,
Guus Korper
