TTV Amstelveen looks back on a season full of highlights
TTV Amstelveen has had another wonderful season. With championships, exciting finishes, and lots of personal growth within all teams, there was plenty to be proud of. We have listed the most important events for you.
Team in the national league shows fighting spirit
Amstelveen 1 in the 2nd division fought hard in a tough pool. Ryan won almost half of his matches, but despite his strong contribution, staying up proved too difficult. The team is relegated to the 3rd division, where it will certainly be among the top teams again next season.
Seniors: champions, promotions, and team changes
Team 2 finishes second despite setbacks
Amstelveen 2 had a strong season in the 2nd class. Second place is a respectable achievement, especially since leader Lei Ma had to miss the entire second half. With him in the lineup, a championship would have been very likely.
Next season, Keisuke and Lei Ma will move on to a new team that will take on the challenge in the 1st class.
Teams 3 and 4 promoted to the 2nd class
Team 3 managed to clinch the title in the 3rd class on the very last night. With Viktor and Aset as the driving forces, the team is promoted to the 2nd class.
Team 4 also had a convincing year and became champions early on. They will compete in the 2nd class next season and have a good chance of maintaining their position there.
Team 5 falls apart after a tough season
In the 3rd class injuries and lack of players made the season very difficult for Team 5. Due to long-term injuries to Waldo and Harrie, it has been decided not to include the team in the list of competition teams for next season (for the time being).
Team 6 fights to the end
Amstelveen 6 gave everything in the battle to stay up, but had to bow out of the 3rd class in the final round. Next season, they will compete in the 4th class.
Team 7 solid in the middle of the table
Team 7 played a stable season in the 4th class, with Peng playing particularly well. The solid foundation of this team offers a lot of promise.
Team 8 champions after an unprecedented thriller
Perhaps the most exciting story came from Team 8 in the 5th class. They needed to score at least eight points in the last game to become champions — and they did it!
With exactly the same number of points and the same result as Tempo-Team, the number of games won ultimately decided the outcome. Championship secured, promotion to the 4th class earned.
A special mention goes to Danial, who won all 15 of his matches.
Duo competition: strong performances
In the duo competition, Amstelveen 1 managed to hold its own in the 2nd class, despite a strong pool.
Amstelveen 2 finished in a respectable second place in the 3rd class and hopes to compete for the championship next season.
Youth: success at all levels
Team 1 advances to the national competition
The battle for promotion in the 1st class to the national level was only decided in the final match. Amstelveen 1 advances to the national youth competition — a milestone for the club.
Team 2 right behind them
Amstelveen 2 continued its advance with an impressive second place in the 1st class, behind our own TTV Amstelveen Team 1. With newcomer Justin in the ranks, there is still a lot of potential in this group.
Team 3 grows through team spirit
After winning the 5th class championship, Team 3 now finished second in the 4th class. Their excellent team spirit was their secret weapon. A great achievement.
Starters: two players, one championship team
In the starters’ competition, Aadi and Matan were unstoppable. They became convincing champions and will make the transition to the regular 5th class next season, where Silas will join them.
TTV Amstelveen is proud of all the players, coaches, and volunteers who made this season possible. Here’s to another year full of sportsmanship, fun, and success!
