Table tennis association (TTV) Amstelveen already has 3 championships to celebrate a few matches before the end of the spring league which is quite unusual as 10 points can be earned per match.
Team 8 playing in the 5th class is already 20 points ahead of Nieuw Vennep 4 and cannot be caught up. Congratulations to Gerard, Dnyanesh, Ben, Roy and Jaap. Gerard has not lost any of his 15 games played.
And for Jaap Boerop a nice farewell, after almost 60 years of being a member of TTV Amstelveen, he stops playing competition at the age of 91 but continues as a recreational player.
Team 6 (se picture) has become champions in the 4th class by a landslide and has an unbridgeable lead of 23 points over GSV Heemstede 2 two games before the end. Congratulations to Georgios, Silvan, Serkan, Waldo and Brian. Georgios even won all his 24 matches played!
Finally, Team 2 playing in the premier league has a whopping 25 points ahead of VDO 1 from Uithoorn with 2 games to play. Ece, Ladi, Brian and Jeffrey congratulations, you are now going to the ‘overgangsklasse’, the highest regional level. Guus, thanks for filling in! Nice to mention that a father (Brian) and son (Jeffrey) are in this team and Brian too has not lost any of his 24 games yet.
We wish you all good luck next season at this higher level. By the way, there are more teams with championship chances in the remaining matches like Team 5 and both Team 1 and Team 2 in the duo league.
