Senior competition: results and survey

Match secretary Alex Brandt has sent an email about the results of the spring competition and information and a survey about the autumn competition.

TTV Amstelveen Open update

Organiser Brian van den Heuvel writes:
We have seen that so far a large number of members of TTV Amstelveen will join our tournament, 16 youth members and 23 seniors. Great fun! Intermediate registrations total 77 for the youth and 103 for the seniors. So it looks like we might be getting close to the numbers (90 youth, 130 seniors) of our previous -anniversary- year.

You can still register until 5 May next! See links below
TTV Amstelveen Open 2024 JEUGD | Toernooi.nl
TTV Amstelveen Open 2024 SENIOREN | Toernooi.nl

Even though a number of members have already signed up to help as volunteers during our tournament on 25 and 26 May, it would still be nice if some more joined in so we can divide the tasks a bit more.
So even if you think, I’m only available for a limited part of a day, if you want to help please let me know via opentoernooi2024@ttvamstelveen.nl
See the earlier message sent via email but also on the website (in the message below) for what tasks are needed when.
Thank you very much in advance!

there will be NO youth training sessions on:

Senior competition

By now the league is over halfway through. Here is a brief update.

Teams 2 (Brian) and 6 (Georgios) can’t fail to win the championship in the major league and the fourth class, respectively. Team 8 (Gerard) is also on a championship track.

In the duo competition, team 1 (Sergii) is on course for the 4th class championship.  However, rival HTC still has to be dealt with. Team 2 (Viktor) is also well on the way to the championship.

The flowers have already been reserved!

Team 1 (Arjan) will easily maintain its 2nd place in the national 3rd division. Team 4 (Harry) and 9 (Marco) are going to easily maintain themselves in the 3rd and 5th class, respectively.

Then the ‘doubt’ cases.

Team 5 (Viktor), promoted to the 3rd class last season, still has chances at the championship. However, it needs to make up a 3-point deficit on TTAZ. A tough job. Team 7 (Paul), despite a good 7-3 win over rival HTC, is not yet completely out of the danger zone in the 4th class. Team 3 (Gijs), too, still has to stay alert to avoid the spectre of relegation in the 2nd class.

So all in all, it looks like we will have a lot of championships to celebrate!

Good luck and have fun everyone with the final matches!

Festive conclusion of the 75th anniversary of TTV Amstelveen

On Saturday, November 23rd, TTV Amstelveen festively wrapped up its 75th anniversary.
The club’s board and some enthusiastic volunteers organized a special event to mark the end of this remarkable jubilee year.

The celebrations kicked off with an amazing table tennis extravaganza for the kids.
Over 35 children, accompanied by their parents, had a blast in the table tennis garden set up by MJ Table Tennis. The garden offered a variety of table tennis tables, including a round table, a table tennis robot, a ball floater, mini tables, a panther table, a golden table, a candy table, a target board, and much more.
After a short break, where the kids enjoyed unlimited free snacks, sweets, and drinks, the party continued in the table tennis garden. After more than 4 hours of sports and play, all participants, thanks to the efforts of MJ and the coaches, looked back on an unforgettable afternoon.

After the board and some volunteers transformed the canteen, the youth made way for the seniors and their guests.
Although not as many people signed up as expected, the evening turned out to be particularly cozy with the limited company, and those who were absent were wrong.
Upon entry, everyone received a flower garland around their neck, emphasizing the tropical atmosphere.
With the DJ’s music, who perfectly tailored his playlist to the audience, it became a particularly lively and sometimes exuberant evening.
The dance floor even became “overcrowded” at times.
The drinks flowed freely, and the wide selection of snacks completed the party. At midnight, we closed the evening and with it the jubilee year.
All visitors went home satisfied.
