Table Tennis Association Amstelveen has organised clinics for the senior classes of “De Horizon” primary school for the past three weeks.
In the first week no less than 106 children, in 4 groups, enjoyed their first table tennis lessons.
The lessons, organised by gym teacher Jorgos de Fost and youth coordinator Guus Korper,
were supported by no less than 4 experienced trainers of the local TTV.
Simple exercises, fun games and a real table tennis robot provided a nice introduction to the sport of table tennis.
That the youngsters were enjoying themselves became clear during the after-school follow-up lesson organised by TTV Amstelveen. Twenty-one children applied for this lesson and received as a group extra attention in their free time.
It was a pleasant and instructive day and a number of children indicated that they would like to come back to train with the club’s youth members.
